You say it’s your birthday, happy birthday to you! - (Like the Beatles sing it)
Celebrate with us this month as we turn 21 years old. Jeanine and I met when we were in middle school, a wee bit more than 21 years ago. ;) At the ripe age of 13 or so, you don’t think too much about what life will be like at 21. Likewise, as I joined Jeanine as her partner at Moss Hill back in 2011, I really didn’t think much about what life would be like 11 years down the road, when the company would turn 21 years old.
Fast forward to 2022 and much has changed, like Jeanine leaving the business in May of 2021, working through a pandemic and a more adversarial societal climate than I can ever remember. YET - much is the same here in the world of Moss Hill, such as our continued focus on making terrific, quality products as a women-owned and run family business. Also, creating a product and shopping environment that are both pleasant and enjoyable. We love to surround ourselves and our shop in lovely things, lovely images and scents. Check out our new scent - Kentucky Lily. It is modeled after the Lily cocktail served at Churchill Downs on Oaks Day - fruity and light and beautiful with notes of blackberry, lemon, orange and cranberry.
A recent addition to the loveliness around us is the new mural added to the Butchertown Market, where we have our storefront. I have to say a big thank you to Often Seen Rarely Spoken for the lovely work they painted and to Andy Blieden, who helped us add another piece of beauty to his building. Here is the mural and our Moss Hill team.
